The De La Salle University (DLSU) successfully hosted the Philippine Datathon 2023 from 29 September to 1 October 2023 at The Verdure, 4F Henry Sy Sr. building of the DLSU Taft Campus. The Dr. Andrew L. Tan Data Science Institute (ALTDSI), one of the research centers of the DLSU, is part of the organizing committee of the event. 

With the general theme How can Artificial Intelligence contribute to Universal Health Care?, the Datathon featured key plenary talks, parallel workshops, and a hackathon event with participants working on several available health-related datasets. 

The faculty members of the Complex Systems Group, headed by Dr. Rene C. Batac, joined the organizing committee of the event. Dr. Michelle T. Cirunay and Mr. Jude Maria V. Antenorcruz served as facilitators and organizers during the event. 

Dr. Rene C. Batac is the Group Head of the Complex Systems: Dynamics and Organization research group. He is concurrently the Executive Director of the ALTDSI. Dr. Michelle T. Cirunay is a research specialist of ALTDSI. Mr. Jude Maria V. Antenorcruz is a member of the Complex Systems Group and is a faculty member of the Department of Physics, College of Science.
