Dr. Jude Maria V. Antenorcruz, a research faculty of the Complex Systems Group, was awarded the best oral presentation during the parallel sessions of the 2026 16th International Conference on Applied Physics and Mathematics (ICAPM) held on April 10-12, 2025 in Osaka, Japan.
Prof. Masaki Ogura from the Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering, Hiroshima University, Japan visited the De La Salle University (DLSU) on March 9, 2026. He gave a talk on the topic From Local Interventions to Scalable System-Level Effects to the faculty and students of the Complex Systems Group (CSG) of the Department of Physics, College of Science, DLSU.
In our newest work, we provided a detailed analysis of the co-authorship network of a core and pioneer community of researchers from five institutions originally recognized as Centers of Excellence (COE) in Physics in the Philippines:

In our new paper, we replicate the statistics of brain network structure using a sandpile model that introduces Hebbian learning on a hierarchical modular network (HMN).

In our new publication, we examine the power-law signatures in the statistics of populations of Philippine cities and municipalities:

Dylan Marcus Ordoñez, a member of the Complex Systems Group, presented his research work titled Zipf's law deviations for Philippine cities and municipalities: An analysis using the 2020 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index during the 43rd Physics Conference of the Physics Society of the Philippines (Samahang Pisika ng Pilipinas, SPP) held on June 25-28, 2025 in the University of the Philippines Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines.
Edward Russel Hernandez, a graduate student researcher from the Complex Systems Group, presented his work, Power-law Distributions of Urban Tree Cover, during the 2025 15th International Conference on Applied Physics and Mathematics (ICAPM) held on April 10-12, 2025 in Tokyo, Japan.
